Guitarist MIKE KIMBALL Quits DYING FETUS

March 8, 2008

Guitarist Mike Kimball has left Maryland-based extreme metallers DYING FETUS.

Commented Mike in a statement: "This is easily the most difficult decision I've ever had to make in my life. I have had moments where I felt that it might be time to part ways with DYING FETUS but didn't want to accept it out of love for performing as a musician, and, of course, being less than thrilled with the prospect of disappointing my bandmates or the fans.

"Being in DYING FETUS has been an amazing experience, and I'm eternally grateful to the guys in the band (past and present),as well as all of our crew members, all the bands we have toured with, and, most of all, the fans for their support. Thank you all so much!"

The remaining members of DYING FETUS are now holding auditions for a new guitarist — both in person and via video. All applicants — who must have NO criminal record and must have a valid passport — are being asked to learn the songs "Praise the Lord", "Pissing in the Mainstream" and "Justifiable Homicide". Tablature is available in the "Media" section of the DyingFetus.com web site.

After years of (near-)unavailability, the 1998 brutal death metal classic "Killing On Adrenaline" by DYING FETUS will finally be reissued this summer by Displeased Records. The CD will be remastered and will feature upgraded layout.

DYING FETUS last fall completed a month-long tour of the States in support of its latest album, "War of Attrition". Joining DYING FETUS for this trek were CEPHALIC CARNAGE, SKELETONWITCH, DEMIRICOUS, and THE ABSENCE.

The band last year debuted a video for the "War of Attrition" track "Homicidal Retribution". Watch the clip below.
